Most kids HATE getting taking their temperature. No secret there. We have one of the ear thermometers, but Mr constantly gets ear infections, so that's of no use to me. The Exergen TemporalScanner™is the world’s first infrared thermometer designed to measure body temperature by taking a reading from the temporal artery. The patented technology employs an infrared sensor that accurately registers body temperature to within +0.2º F—a much more accurate means of taking the temperature than any other way including oral, rectal, axillary (under the arm) and tympanic (in the ear). It is also the least invasive method, depending upon a gentle sweep over a patient’s forehead.
The TemporalScanner captures naturally emitted heat from the skin over the temporal artery, taking 1,000 readings per second, and selecting the most accurate. With its patented Arterial Heat Balance system, the TemporalScanner measures ambient temperatures, mathematically replaces the small temperature loss from cooling at the skin, and displays an accurate arterial temperature.
I love it! Its so easy to use and accurate. (That's key to me) I am telling you, if you have a baby, toddler, or heck kids in general, what are you waiting for??? You need this in your house.

My favorite feature is that it's quick and doesn't need to be inserted - when a baby's sick the last thing s/he wants is to be poked!

the thing I like best is the non-invasive feature... having a sick child is no fun, but having to wake them up to take their temperature is even worse. With this, I can let them sleep and still get the info I need plus it is easy and quick, 2 other great benefits.
